Question Summary

I'll be in granada from nov 11th until 14th. I'd like to go on a guided tour of the alhambra. do they offer them in the afternoon? If so, will it get dark & prohibit me from seeing well? Everything I've come across is for morning tour only. thanks for any help you can give.

Background Info

myself & my sister are traveling to granada in november to visit my daughter who is spending a semester there. she will be taking us to all of her favorite spots but we'd like to do the touristy stuff too. the alhambra, an olive oil tour and a flamenco show. we are 50, 48 and 20 years old. we're from new jersey. we'll be staying at the portago suites in granada.

we want to get the most out of this trip in the short time we have.

Advice

  • what are the must-sees in granada
  • best places to eat
  • best sangria

Damian Corrigan, Spain Travel Guide, says:

Hi Sue!

The Alhambra closes at 6pm in winter to account for the fact that it will indeed be getting dark at that point. But you should have no problems getting a tour at, say, 2pm or 3pm and seeing everything in full daylight.

Information about booking Alhambra tickets can be found here (including opening times): Alhambra Tickets.

In answer to your other questions:

  • Things to Do in Granada - these are your must-sees and includes details of where to eat (it's all about tapas in Granada).
  • None of the Sangria will be any good in Granada - but the fact you're looking for the 'best' sangria comes from a widespread confusion about what sangria really is. Read The Truth About Sangria in Spain.
