Cordoba is such a curious city - its bustling new town and tourist-infested Mezquita area will swallow up most visitors as they look for a place to stay, leaving Hostal Maestre in the undiscovered country that is the quiet old town, usually only stumbled upon after people have passed through the rest of the town and found their accommodation.
Hostal Maestre is in the very pleasant old town area a little east of the Mezquita, with numerous restaurants and handicraft shops in the vicinity.
The first thing you see when you step inside the entrance to Hostal Maestre is its magical patio area - decorated in the Cordobese tradition, its walls feature dozens of decorative plates.
The rooms are simple - whitewashed walls and basic furniture, but for this price you can't complain.
