El Puig - A Day Trip from Valencia

What to Do in El Puig & How to Get There from Valencia

By Damian Corrigan, About.com

  • How to Get There from Valencia:
    • There are three trains a day from Valencia to El Puig. The journey takes 20 minutes and costs under 2€. Check with Renfe for the current timetable.

  • What to See:
    • The 13th Century Gothic Elk Puig Monastery (Open: Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-1pm and 4-7pm). is the main attraction in El Puig.
    • The Museo de Artes Graficas, also in the monastery, claims to have the world's oldest book, though the Guiness Book of Records does not recognize their claim.
    • As the monastery is not likely to hold your attention for the entire day, the nearby beach should occupy you for its remainder.
