Where is Bilbao?

In the far north-east of Spain, close to the border with France.

Bilbao Airport Transfer

As Bilbao is very popular with internal flights, there is a well established bus transfer service which runs throughout the day and is very cheap (under 1.50€).

But if you'd rather be taken straight from Bilbao airport to your hotel (or vice versa), you should consider a private airport transfer:

What to Do in Bilbao

Bilbao is a modern city, rejuvenated by the world-famous Guggenheim museum, which attracts as many people for its impressive architecture as for its art collection. As the capital of the Basque country, it is the home of the 'pinxos' (the Basque equivalent to tapas) and the wider Basque cuisine, said to be the finest food in Spain.

How to Get from Bilbao to Other Destinations in Spain

Despite both cities being in the north-east of the country, Bilbao and Barcelona are quite far apart - it takes nine hours by train (a bit less by bus) and it is actually quicker to get to Madrid than it is to get to Barcelona. The most sensible destination from Bilbao is San Sebastian, which is just an hour and a half away, although, as there is no direct train, you'll have to go by bus with ALSA (7€). Pamplona is two hours away by bus (service by La Union, no direct train), though if your main reason for flying to the region is to go to Pamplona (presumably for the Pamplona Bull Run), it is easier (and usually cheaper) to fly to Vitoria Airport.
