Around The Mezquita de Cordoba

By , About.com Guide

The biggest mosque of al-Andalus, the Arabic name for Andalusia, the Mezquita de Cordoba is an imposing sight in the centre of old-town Cordoba. These pictures are taken in and around the Patio de los Naranjos (Patio of Oranges), a beautiful orange grove that, despite being overrun by tourists, is remarkably peaceful. The mosque itself was closed when I visited, but just seeing it from the outside made it worth the trip.
