Movie Theaters in Spain
Going to See a Movie in Spain

By , About.com Guide

Looking to see a movie in Spain? Unfortunately, unless you speak Spanish, you're going to struggle to understand what's going on, as they dub all foreign movies in Spain. Rumor has it that it stems from the days of Franco's dictatorship - dubbed films were easier to censor - but there is no excuse today. Luckily, you can find English language films in Original Version movie theaters (cine version original in Spanish), though these can only be found in the larger cities.

Dia del Espectador

Wednesday is 'dia del Espectador', when nearly all movie theaters (if not all) offer reduced entry prices. Get your tickets early as there are always long lines as people try to snap up a ticket.

Going to See a Movie on a Sunday Night in Spain

Sunday night is movie night in Spain and there are always extremely long lines outside a movie theater on a Sunday night, so this night is best avoided.
