On this page you will find the lyrics to the Spanish national anthem, as used under Alfonso XIII in the early part of the twentieth century. They were written by Eduardo Marquina.

There are no official lyrics but a number of unofficial versions have been used through the ages. From 1978 until early 2008 there were no lyrics at all. In 2008 the Spanish national anthem was in the news when new lyrics were unveiled by the Spanish Olympic Committee.
