Catedral de Toledo

Where?: Toledo is a small city a little to the south of Madrid. It can be easily reached by AVE high-speed train.

Built: 13th-16th centuries.

Style: High Gothic.

What's Inside?: Some excellent paintings, including one on the ceiling by Luca Giordano. There is a maze of small chapels that could occupy a visitor for hours!

Practical Information: Admission is about 7€. Entry is from 10am until 6.30pm, which is an earlier closing time than most cathedrals in Spain. On Sunday mornings the cathedral doesn't open to tourists.
