Marbella is on the Costa del Sol, about an hour's drive west of Málaga. It is Spain's Miami or Monaco and is where the rich and famous come out and play.
The nearest airport is Malaga. There are frequent buses from Malaga to Marbella, but renting a car is your best bet on the Costa del Sol, as public transport is poor.
