Jazz is very popular in Spain and there are jazz festivals taking place most weekends somewhere in Spain. On this page you'll find a list of the biggest festivals taking place in 2012 and 2013 in Spain.
Some so-called jazz festivals in Spain are more like 'jazz seasons', with a show a week for six months. I've left these off the list. All of the festivals on this page are short concentrated affairs ideal for a visitor to get a good hit of jazz while they're in Spain. Jazz Festivals Confirmed for 2013
This page was written in late 2012, before most festivals for 2013 had been announced. Almost every festival on this page has run for a number of years and is virtually guaranteed for 2013, but these few immediately below have been confirmed for next year.- April 13-15 (dates approx), 2013 Dixieland Jazz Festival and International Firework Competition Confirmed for 2013.

One can assume that the festivals below will take place in 2013 at around the same time.- March 8-25, 2012 Terrassa Jazz Festival
- March 30 - April 8, 2012 Figueres Jazz Festival. Visit the Dali museum in the afternoon and stay for the jazz at night.
- April 14-26, 2012 Jazz Barrie In Vigo, Lugo and A Coruna.
- May 3-13 2012 Vic Jazz Festival near Barcelona. This is cava (Spanish sparkling wine) country so sip a glass while watching the shows.
- June 21-30, 2012 - Vigo Jazz Festival in Galicia.
- Late June/Early July, 2012 - Clazz Latin Jazz festival in Madrid.
- July 2012 - Fijazz jazz festival in Alicante. Two weekends of jazz shows.
- July 4-8, 2012 Jazz festival in Getxo in the Basque Country.
- July 7-30, 2012 Peniscola International Jazz Festival
- July 10-17, 2012 - Valencia Jazz festival
- July 14-22, 2012 Jazz en la Costa in Almuñécar. Main program is from 17 to 22 but there are some advanced events from the 14th.
- July 16-21, 2012 Jazz Festival in Vitoria, Basque Country.
- July 19-23, 2012 Jazzaldia Jazz Festival in San Sebastian.
- July 27-28, 2012 Atac de Jazz in Tarrega, near Lleida.
- August 2012 - Mas i Mas Music festival in Barcelona with jazz and much more.
- August 15-18, 2012 - Ibiza Jazz festival
- September 2012 - L'Hora del Jazz Jazz festival in Barcelona.
- Late October, 2012 - Mijas Jazz Festival on the Costa del Sol. Two weekends of jazz.
- Late October to early December, 2012 - Jazz Cartagena. Jazz and avante garde pop festival.
- October 30-November 30, 2012 Barcelona Jazz Festival
- Throughout November 2012 (exact dates TBC) - Madrid Jazz Festival. Check local press for details.
- Throughout November 2012 - Granada Jazz Festival (TBC - website has not confirmed for 2012 at the time of writing).
- November, 2012 (dates approx) - Jazz Voyeur Festival in Mallorca.
- 20-22 December, 2012 - Clazz Latin Jazz at Xmas Latin Jazz festival in Madrid.
