Malaga has Spain's third largest airport and so is a common choice for visitors to Andalusia and the rest of southern Spain. From Malaga, most visitor's preferred destination, is Seville, home of flamenco, bullfighting and some of the best tapas in Spain.
If you're using Malaga as a gateway to the south of Spain, it is good to know that Malaga airport has good bus and train connections, meaning you don't actually have to visit Malaga city center at all (and if you're planning a trip round the whole of Andalusia, my advice would be to skip Malaga altogether and spend more time in the other cities). Furthermore, the high-speed AVE train from Madrid to Seville takes the same amount of time as the Malaga to Seville journey (though it is more expensive) so there's not really any need to go to Malaga at all. An interesting stop on the way between these two cities is Osuna, where Game of Thrones will be filming for season five. Read more: Osuna: A Game of Thrones Location
Malaga to Seville by Guided Tour
Seville is one of Spain's most impressive cities. Really, it's a vacation in itself. If you can only spare a day to visit Seville, I'd recommend taking a guided tour of Seville from Malaga.
The tour below, by air-conditioned bus, leaves early in the morning from Malaga and takes you on a day trip to Seville, including a tour of the cathedral, a city tour and time to explore the city by yourself before returning to Malaga in the evening. Read more: Seville Tour from Malaga.
If you can spare the extra day, I'd recommend this Two-Day Seville City Break. You'll have to make your own way to Seville, but everything else will be taken care of once you arrive at Seville train station.
