It doesn't have to be all culture and fine dining when you're in Madrid. Why not a little shopping too? On this page you'll find the five Madrid shopping experiences that made my 100 Things to Do in Madrid list.

1. Rastro Market

It is a truism to say that the famous Rastro outdoor flea market isn't what it used to be, it is still a fun morning out and then next best thing to do on a Sunday morning in Madrid after sleeping off Saturday night!

2. Gran Via, Calle Preciados and Calle Carmen

These two streets will take you from Puerta del Sol past a number of good shops and up to Gran Via, Madrid's most celebrated street for shopping.

3. El Flamenco Vive

If you're interested in flamenco, you can't do better than El Flamenco Vive, with its extremely knowledgeable staff and good prices.

4. Fuencarral Market

Though increasingly gentrified (and expensive) the clothes in this market are cool and very original.

5. Barrio Salamanca

Where Victoria Beckham used to go shopping, you're more likely to want to window shop here (because buying anything would break the bank!)
