Plaza Santa Ana

What is Plaza Santa Ana? Santa Ana was a famous haunt of Ernest Hemingway. Probably stalking the bullfighters (they have always stayed in the Reina Victoria hotel), the writer used to sit and write at the Cerveceria Alemana (German beer house).

Also in this square is Naturbier, another pub that brews its own beer. They have 'pour-your-own' taps at the tables downstairs, but you can only sit there if you're eating.

Be careful - a lot of the restaurants here charge too much for their food and many add a surcharge for sitting outside. It won't break the bank, but don't be shocked to see your bill is higher than you'd expected.

Nearest Metro: Anton Martin, Sol or Sevilla

Where is Plaza Santa Ana? Parallel to Calle Huertas, at the end of Calle Principe.

Useful Information About Plaza Santa Ana As with the locales in Plaza Mayor, the restaurants here are over priced and of inferior quality to those found elsewhere.
