By , About.com Guide

Question: Where is the Nearest Beach to Madrid?
Madrid is over 300km from the sea - but that doesn't mean you don't have a few options for a visit to the beach during your stay in Madrid.
Answer: Madrid has no coast, as it is over 300km from the nearest sea. However, innovative city planners have built a for Madrid in the pipeline, with the Madrid Rio project. The area around the Manzanares river has been renovated to bring all kinds of social and cultural facilities to the city - and a beach is one of these facilities.
