What Language Do They Speak in Seville?:
This question is not as silly as it may sound as there are a number of Languages Spoken in Spain.

In Seville they speak standard (Castillian) Spanish

The Accent and Dialect You'll Hear in Seville:
Sevillanos (inhabitants of Seville) speak with quite a strong accent. They drop a lot of letters, including most occurrences of the letter 's' in the middle or end of words. So "two o'clock", which would be 'a las dos' in the rest of Spain, becomes "a la' do'". They also speak very quickly. This makes it quite hard to follow even quite simple conversations in the street. I learned Spanish in Seville and though I understood everything in class, I felt quite disheartened when I got out on the street and failed to understand anything!
Lifestyle in Seville:
Seville is the capital of Andalusia and has a very rich culture. Bullfighting, flamenco and tapas dominate. There is a large number of museums, which will take you a long time to get through.

In summer, Seville shuts down as the inhabitants escape the sweltering heat for the cooler coast. If you are staying long term (more than a month) I wouldn't recommend learning in summer in Seville. This was the mistake I made. Not only was it painfully hot, I also had few classmates for my entire stay. Most people stay for just a few weeks in summer. In spring and autumn people stay for whole semesters.

Climate in Seville:
Seville temperatures in summer are painfully high - it regularly reaches 120 degrees fahrenheit (50 degrees centigrade). Spring and autumn are much more pleasant and it never gets too cold in winter.

Language Schools Where You Can Learn Spanish in Seville:

CLIC Sevilla A part of the very reputable International House franchise, this is the school that I learned Spanish with. They come highly recommended.

Note: many companies online that look like language schools are actually agencies. Many, notably Don Quixote and Cactus Languages, use the above CLIC as their Spanish school in Seville - but they charge a huge agency fee. Go direct to the above site to avoid paying this fee.
