Madrid to A Coruña by Train
The train from A Coruña to Madrid takes about eight to ten hours between 40 and 75 euros, depending on if you want a bed. Sleeping on the train is a good way of killing time on such a long journey, but if you don't plan on paying for a bed, I recommend the bus. Train seats in Spain don't normally recline, whereas the ones on buses do. Therefore sleeping on a bus seat is nicer than sleeping on a train seat. The bus is also quicker and cheaper. The train station you need to get from Madrid to A Coruña is Chamartin. Read more about Bus and Train Stations in Madrid
This ticket can only be booked through Renfe.es, Spain's official rail website. This site is a mess and has been described as "like Alice in Wonderland, where nothing seems to be what it really is" by Trip Advisor. I recommend getting your tickets in person if you're going to travel by bus (note: you can buy your bus ticket online for no extra cost).
For other train tickets, residents of Canada and USA should use Rail Europe instead to have their tickets delivered to their home address. Other citizens should also use the link below to check timetables and then buy tickets in person.
