How to Get to Figueres from Barcelona
- Figueres is two hours from Barcelona by train (trains depart every 30-60 minutes and cost 9€). Renfe.es, the Spanish rail website, says there are only three or four trains a day. They are wrong. I went down to the train station after reading this online and found plenty of trains.
- The bus is not practical. Take the train.
- Alternatively, take a guided tour.
The train departs from Barcelona Sants station, but you can pick it up at Passeig de Gracia. Read more about Barcelona Bus and Train Stations.
With little else of real significance in Figueres, it is a good idea to get a very early train to the town and be out again by lunch time so you can still enjoy the afternoon back in Barcelona.
How to Get to Figueres from Girona
- If a two hour trip there and back seems like a bit much, consider staying in Girona, which is half way between Barcelona and Figueres. Take a train from the main station in Girona.
