- Round-trip in Audi A6 Saloon from Barcelona to Madrid generates 42kg of CO2 per person. (extra-urban fuel consumption: approx 40mpg).

Interestingly, the carbon emissions for a lone car occupant driving an economical car from London to Madrid and a single passenger on an airplane are more or less the same (about 150kg each way).
