Nudism has quite a following in Spain. Not only that, but taking off all of one's clothes is a popular form of protest in the country (sure beats a hunger strike, right?).
1. Sopelana Nudist Race
The only one of these nudist events that is exclusively about the fun of getting naked (with no campaigning element involved. Every year on this beach in the Basque country, thousands of like-minded free spirits take part in this running race. Sports bras are, of course, not allowed!
2. Nudist Bike Ride
The Spanish leg of the World Naked Bike Ride is the Manifestación Ciclonudista. This anti-car protest takes place every year. The aim is a serious one, to reduce the amount we use our cars, but there will of course be plenty of people who just really like the idea of cycling through the streets naked.3. This event is most definitely not about the liberating experience of getting naked. No siree. This a protest against the morally superior who think it is their place to judge the actions of their fellow man.
