Basque Country Weekend Break

If you want to take a Basque Country weekend break, you'll be wanting to concentrate your time on two cities: Bilbao and San Sebastian. They're just an hour apart by bus, so it's very convenient to visit both in one weekend.

The main appeal of San Sebastian is its beach and its pintxos (the Basque word for 'tapas'). So a day trip from Bilbao to San Sebastian would be enough to see the essential sights that San Sebastian has to offer.

The main international airport in the Basque Country is in Bilbao. There used to be international flights to Vitoria but they've finished. San Sebastian has an airport but it only has expensive internal flights.
