Many confuse La Ribera with the Gothic Quarter. Others never get this far, turning back after walking through the Gothic Quarter to to the busy Via Laetana street. But cross over and you will reach one of my favorite parts of Barcelona.
The full name of this part of town is Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera but the boundaries between each section are ill-defined. It is common to call the whole area 'La Ribera'.
