What? Museu Olímpic i de l'Esport (the official Catalan name), also called el Museo Olímpico y del Deporte (in Spanish) and Olympic and Sport Museum (in English).

Why? The Olympic and Sport Museum in Barcelona is the first of its kind in Europe - a museum dedicated to showing human greatness through sport. The museum looks at historical, ethical and educational aspects of the pursuit of sport.

Where? The Olympic and Sport Museum is on Montjuic, the big hill/mountain that overlooks Barcelona. You can walk up the mountain from Placa de Espanya (up past the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya).

The museum is in the "Olympic Ring" (Anella Olimpica), where most of the 1992 Olympic Games were held.

When? From October to March, Tuesday to Saturday: from 10 am to 6 pm, Sundays and public holidays: from 10 am to 2.30 pm. From April to September Tuesday to Saturday: from 10 am to 8 pm. Sundays and public holidays: from 10 am to 2.30 pm.

Closed: Mondays (except public holidays), 1st of January, 1st of May, 25th and 26th of December.
