Plaça del Sol
The square was constructed in the 1840s and is one of Gràcia's biggest and busiest, packed with terraces and spots to eat tapas. It's also convenient if you're driving, with an underground parking lot directly on the plaza.
One of its most emblematic bars is Woody's, full of jazz and movie memorabilia. Sol de Nit has a seductive decor with interesting artwork and a good range of tapas. Sol Soler is a very traditional Catalan bar with a typical tiled floor and excellent bites to eat. For a dance later on in the night, the square has one of the most popular options in the whole of Gràcia, Mirasol.
Plaça del Sol During the Gràcia Festival
The square is undoubtedly one of the best spots to hang out during the Gràcia Festival in mid-august. The whole plaza is covered in a blanket of people throughout the night and bars are fronted with makeshift cocktail stalls selling caiprinhas and mojitos cheaply.
