Why?:

Semana Santa, of course, probably the most important festival on the Spanish calendar. The Easter festivities are big all over Spain, but the biggest spectacle is in Seville.

Semana Santa is mainly a series of processions, beginning with Palm Sunday the week before Easter, followed by those on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Easter Monday is less important in Spain then in the US or the UK). Read more about Semana Santa 2012.

    What? Arts festival that acts as a kind of extended pre-festival to the Malaga film festival that starts on the 20th.
