Faro has one bus station and one train station and both luckily are central. Most of the sites are easily accessible by foot from both stations, making Faro an easy visit.

Faro Train Station
  • Where is it? In the center of town on Largo da Estação dos Caminhos de Ferro, less than 700m from the Marina (from there, you can also see the entrance to the old city). You will most likely be able to get anywhere in Faro by foot from the train station.
  • For Travel to You can travel across the Algarve coast from here. You can also travel directly to Lisbon and as far north as Porto. All international destinations will require a transfer.
Faro Bus Station
  • Where is it? The bus station is also in the city center and is even closer to the Marina than the train station. It is located on the Avenida da República.

If you are arriving at the bus station, you can catch many of the town´s buses just outside across the street from the bus station exit, including buses 14 and 16 that will take you to the beach. Again, most of what there is to see in Faro can be done so on foot.

  • For Travel to You can travel along the Algarve coast easily from here. You also reach most points in Portugal. You can also travel directly to Seville (Spain).
