Snow in Sierra Nevada

By January 16, 2013

Follow me on:

The Sierra Nevada has snow! In fact, there's enough of it to open up nearly 60 kilometers of skiable pistes in the ski resorts near Granada in Andalusia, according to this article in 20minutos.es

Skiing in Spain is not the first thing that comes to people's minds when they consider an Iberian vacation (apart from in the Pyrenees) and particularly not in the south of Spain. And it's true that snow cannot be guaranteed in ski season in Europe's most southerly ski resort, but when it is there, it's a great way to combine an activity holiday with a bit of culture. Ski in the morning, then go for free tapas in Granada, before visiting the Alhambra in the afternoon. What could be better?
