The days are short, the weather is not 'typically Spanish' and everyone is getting ready for Christmas - so what is there to do in Spain in December?
To be honest, the events calendar in Spain in December has pretty slim pickings. The Inmaculada festival in Seville is the biggest traditional event before Christmas, while the students of Salamanca have created their own customs with their early Christmas a week before the main event (to allow university mates to celebrate together before they go home to their families). There is also a couple of fun runs to keep you warm and gospel festivals in both Barcelona and Madrid.
As soon as Christmas is behind us, though, everything starts getting going again. There is a mini flamenco festival in Malaga and a longer one in Barcelona, plus a strange event near Cordoba where a man dresses as a bear...
