The organizers of Primavera Sound, one of Europe's premier alternative music festivals, have announced the first headline act for the 2013 events in Barcelona in Spain and Porto in Portugal, with British band Blur set to take center stage after their appearances earlier this year at the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympics.
There is also a new way of paying for your tickets for this year's festival. If you buy your tickets before October 31, you'll be able to pay in three instalments of 50€. This is just 5€ more than the current full price of 145€ - not bad if the full amount is too much for you at the moment.
As in previous years, the price will creep up over the next few months, so if you are sure you want to go, now is the time to buy. Granted, it is a risk to buy now with only one act announced, but the line-up is sure to be spectacular. I was at the event in 2011 and saw Pulp, Grinderman, PJ Harvey, Einsturzende Neubauten, Suicide, Caribou and many more.
