"You've Won!" Or Maybe Not...

Saturday November 15, 2008
The Mirror newspaper in the UK has posted a warning to its readers about fraudulent scratchcards that promise great things but are nothing more than a clever sales pitch.

These cards are handed out in popular tourist destinations in mainland Spain and the Spanish islands. No matter how good they look, don't fall for their tricks. You should never pay anything when you have 'won' something.

These scratchcards aren't the only popular methods of duping people that crop up in relation to Spain. Another common ploy is sending emails that say you have won the Spanish Christmas Lottery. But if you didn't enter it, how can you win?

For more information about how to take part in the lottery without risk of getting scammed, see this page: Spanish Christmas Lottery.
