Nudism and Raw Food in Andalusia

Saturday September 13, 2008
Here's one for the diary for next year - the International Raw Food Community at La Cascada in Ojen, near Malaga on the Costa del Sol, is hosting a festival this weekend to coincide with the full moon.

The International Raw Food Community is a group of crudivores (people who only eat raw food) and nudists. That is, a group of crudivores who are also nudists, not that there is one side of camp with nudists and the other with crudivores. Does that make them nudist crudivores or crudivore nudists? I don't know.

Anyway, the community, rather than being a closed elitist organization, shouts "come and visit us" on their website. You can find out more about the organization at their website: Nudist Crudivore Community on the Costa del Sol.

I've never been sure of 'back to our roots' eating as a lifestyle choice. As far as I understand it, the premise of crudism is that before man discovered fire, eating raw food was the only form of eating. And that by being old, this diet is somehow better for you.

Is this a logical conclusion? Before we discovered fire, humans only lived to about 30 years of age. Granted, our longer lifespans today are due to the discovery of better hygiene and medicine, but there is still no way of saying how pre-fire cavemen were healthier than we are today. And even if it was good for you to eat raw food for 30 years, does that make it better to eat raw food for 75 years? I'd like to see the evidence.
