Madrid's Conde de Casal Bus Station Closes

Tuesday September 18, 2007
The Conde de Casal Bus Station in Madrid closed its doors for the last time last night, with all buses that leave from the station now departing from Estación del Sur in nearby Mendez Alvaro.

The closure affects virtually all Auto Res routes, including those to Valencia, Salamanca, Cáceres, Merida, Lisbon, Pontevedra and Vigo.

The old building, which has served Madrid for 40 years, will be knocked down to build apartment blocks and 'green space'.
