Ryanair and Easyjet (especially Ryanair) fly to some obscure airports in Spain for a very low price. But the fact that you haven't heard of the city might put you off flying there, despite the low cost. Indeed, some of these cities aren't worth flying to (Valladolid is one that is certainly worth giving a miss) but Vitoria-Gasteiz is certainly worth a day or two before setting off to explore the rest of the Basque Country.
With a smattering of interesting art galleries and museums (including one on playing cards) and a nice modern town, you could do worse than to arrive in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

I’ve spent 2 weeks in Valladolid on an exchange and I had so much fun. I don’t think it’s a city to miss, it’s actually really pretty and the people there are so nice. Plus the people there are known to speak the most pure form of Spanish so they’re easy to understand. I don’t appreciate your comment
Thanks for your comment, Natalie.
You are right, they speak a very pure Spanish in Valladolid. The city is pretty enough, especially the main square, but I think there are far prettier cities in Spain. I’m sure you and many others could have a very nice time studying Spanish there, but as far as tourist attractions go, Valladolid doesn’t really have much to offer.
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself in Valladolid. For another city in the area which you might like, which also has very clear Spanish and more for tourists to do, I’d recommend Salamanca.
