BA Radiation Scare - Were You on One of the Contaminated Planes?

Thursday November 30, 2006
The scandal surrounding the poisoning of former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko has escalated, as British Airways have announced that three planes have been grounded following the discovery of radioactive contamination.

Each of the planes had flown from London Heathrow to Moscow, but they have since also carried passengers to a number of other destinations in Spain, Germany, Greece, Turkey, Sweden and Poland.

It is said that more than 30,000 people are at risk of contamination. Though the risk is very low, all passengers on these flights have been advised to contact their local doctor for a check-up. UK nationals should contact NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 from within the UK (+ 44 845 4647 from outside the UK - apparently this only works from a cell phone).

Below is a complete list of flights to Spain that have been affected by the radiation scare. For a complete list of affected flights, see this link on the British Airways Web site.

There needs to be some way of preventing this ever happening again.
