Events This Week in Spain

Sunday August 27, 2006
The following events take place over the next week in Spain. Festivities in Spain are often not well publicised until shortly before the event takes place - often only approximate dates can be known in advance. If you are in the area, check with the local tourist board.

The biggest event of the next week is the Tomatina Tomato Fight. If you plan on going, read my page on Tomatina Travel.

As we enter September, the best place to be is Aragon, which has a number of festivals in the first two weeks of the month. Later in the month is the Festa de Santa Tecla in Tarragona (September 15 - 24). Read more on Spanish Festivals in September.

  • August 28 - bullrunning in Cuellar, near Madrid
  • August 30 - the world famous Tomatina tomato fight of Buñol, Valencia.
  • First Weekend of September - festivities in Aranjuez, near Madrid, featuring a re-enactment of a famous 19th century battle.
  • First Two Weeks of September - Teruel fair, Aragon.
