Where Can You See a Bullfight in Spain?

Sunday August 13, 2006
The Spanish do nothing but watch bullfighting, while they drink their sangria, eat tapas, and listen to flamenco, right?

Well, if that was true, why do tourists struggle to actually get to see a bullfight? So many people traveling around Spain get to Seville and discover the bullfighting is over for the summer, then they move on to Granada expecting to see a fight on a Sunday only to discover the fights have been moved to the Wednesday, and so on.

Bullfighting is popular in Spain, but it is not quite as widespread as many believe. It is important to know where bullfighting has a strong following (and, conversely, where the fights are only watched by tourists), when bullfights actually take place and when the big festivals are. You can find all that information on my page on where to see a bullfight in Spain, including which major city is currently having a bullfighting festival.
