Pamplona Running of the Bulls 2006 - image gallery

Friday July 7, 2006
It only lasted about ten seconds and required five hours of waiting in the cold to guarantee the best seat in the house, but watching the Pamplona Bull Run this morning was one of those moments I will never forget. My traveling companions and I sat on a plaza above the 'starting straight' of the bull run and watched the dramatic events as they unfolded, including several injuries as a few of the runners fell in front of the bulls.

The run took place at 8am on Friday after nine hours of partying as the 2006 San Fermin festival kicked off in Pamplona , starting with a spectacular firework display on thursday night, which was followed by partying throughout the city all night. The amounts of alcohol being consumed was astounding, though we thankfully saw little violence during the festivities. See all the images of the Pamplona bull run. Image galleries of the previous night's festivities as well as more information on the famous event will follow shortly.
