How long is too long to stare at La Sagrada Familia?
La Sagrada Familia is to Barcelona what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris or the Statue of Liberty is to New York. But the Barcelona basilica is a monument that rewards repeat visits far more than most other famous tourist sights.
Designed by Antoni Gaudi, the famous architect spent the last years of his life on the church, weaving intricate designs into all four façades of the huge church, images which need a camera with a good zoom to be truly appreciated.
Having bought myself a camera with a good zoom, I was so impressed by the images I got that I'm going back tomorrow to give it another look. The souvenir stores nearby sell some good guide books on La Sagrada Famila, so I'll be buying one and spending the next few hours working out where everything is. Here are some amazing close up shots of Gaudi's most famous creation.
So much for discovering new things in Barcelona.
